Dosage & Schedule
There are many different schedules/protocols for microdosing, and I welcome you to do your own research and share your thoughts with me.

Two schedules you could draw inspiration from:
Fadiman - psilocybin only
Stamets - adding lion’s mane & niacin

Dosage will depend from person to person. Genetic makeup, experience with the medicine, and your current nervous system capacity are influential factors.

You're aiming for the maximum amount to feel supported but not altered.
For most that can be .1 - .4 grams.

It's recommended to microdose 3-4x a week.
The effects can be expanded by weaving in a self-reflection practice. When you build your self-awareness, the medicine has more capacity to follow your neural pathways.
Supplemental Practices
You can expand the effects of this plant medicine by cultivating a meditation, mindful movement, or journaling practice.

Meditation - even for a few minutes a day… give yourself the opportunity to sense into what’s within you and your environment. This is presence - tune into the here and now instead of being pulled into the past or present.

Journaling - express yourself… manifest your thoughts into written word, which allows you to begin opening yourself to new narratives and perspectives.

Mindful movement - like the above practices, this can look different for everyone. You may prefer self-massage, slow dancing by yourself, yoga… if we slow down and take the time to consider how we actually WANT to move versus what may arrive as an automatic process or as a subconcious established pattern… we’re able to create entryways to the path that resonates most deeply from with you.
Honor the medicine
In the spirit of connectedness - which I believe is a foundation of los niños (the little ones), I prefer to pair mushrooms with other fungi or plant medicine. This deepens your relationship with the plant/fungi kingdom.

In ceremony, I find when we sit with cacao first, it can pre-activate the serotonin receptors to fully receive all the benefits of your fungi medicine. It also brings in more heart-opening, nurturing, and grounding energy… which is a great foundation to receive messages from within.

You might consider adding lion's mane to your daily routine - lion's mane has been shown to increase neuro-generation - creating neurons that can then be open to new connections (setting a foundation for neuroplasticity to occur)

If you prefer tea - then ginger to support GI tract and lemon to digest the medicine can be best for sensitive tummies.
Yes, you will receive the subtle benefits from these supplements regardless if you add in a elevated respect for this medicine... but the plant gives what we are ready to receive.

If you’d like to create a relationship with mushrooms, and hold all the gifts this medicine can bring, then I invite you to begin a relationship with the magic - the spirit of this plant ally.
Creating a relationship can include:

Learn more about this mushroom… luckily, this topic is becoming more mainstream and part of conversations across cultures and generations. So there are many resources to pull from through podcasts, books, and video. I invite you to search out voices from BIPOC community.
Acknowledge the fungi kingdom If it’s mushroom season, take a walk in nature and appreciate the beautiful networks within your forests and gardens. Maybe you have a totem or reminder within your home… I love all the mushroom art available and the worldwide love this fungi has… choose a piece of art that inspires you. I choose to lean into indigenous pieces of art and my home has a collection of Mexican sculptures and wall art.

Meditations / Prayers Be generous with your reverence to this plant spirit. Find a quiet moment to share gratitude, wonder, or joy for the beautiful mysteries this medicine offers.
Meditation
A practice:

Take a moment to connect with your breath.

Feel into your roots - invite a drop of weight through your centre of stability… anchor your sit bones if you’re seated, or your feet if you’re standing, or your back if you’re reclined.

As you inhale, imagine yourself growing upwards and expanding outwards, like a fruiting mushroom.

As you exhale, share your energy with those around you. You might imagine every exhale spreading spores to kindred community or imagine a mycellium network expanding outwards.

Bring your attention to the space behind the center of your eyebrows.

Soften the gaze behind your closed eyelids.

Drop your awareness further within, feeling into a pull within and towards your core.
Lean into any colors, lines, shapes, images. Open your imaginative realm.

Acknowledge any thoughts or sensations arise. Feel free to stay with a message, or signal or move on to the next thought.

Allow the mind/sensations to wander and settle where it feels most secure and stable.

Place your hand on your heart and feel into this space. You might notice temperature, your chest rising and fall, or even your heart beat.

Take a moment to thank the medicine, the power of tradition and ritual, and yourself for making space to receive and give back with reverence, honor, and unconditional love.

*Feel free to adapt this practice by picking and choosing what resonates most with you, and leaving what doesn't. You may also add your own expression or creativity here.
